Susmita’s Classes came to life in the tumultuous year of 2020, born out of the wreckage of pandemic-induced job losses. Friends grappling with unemployment due to poor communication skills turned to Susmita for help, recognizing her natural aptitude for English. Teaching was never her ambition, but the urgency of the situation led her to say yes.
Initially, she started with a small group of students, registering on teaching platforms to make ends meet. Balancing work and classes was a challenging task, but her determination to clear pending dues kept her going. The turning point came when her mentor and a successful student suggested she consider turning this coaching service into a business. After thoughtful consideration, Susmita took the plunge. Armed with an MBA and a Masters in TESOL, Susmita assumed the roles of a Coordinator for Cambridge University’s English Assessments and a Cambridge Certified Speaking Examiner. Her team expanded, and they developed a comprehensive curriculum encompassing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
In 2022, she took the bold step of leaving her job in MIT ADT University of 3.5 years to focus entirely on her burgeoning enterprise. Susmita's Classes found its physical home in Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar, and their offerings expanded to include IELTS, Foreign Languages, Spoken English, and school coaching. Their unique approach, keeping fees nominal and pocket-friendly, led to students' success in prestigious MNCs. Corporate training ventures followed with companies such as Protect Group (an England-based MNC with offices in more than 18 countries), Wooshin Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (a South Korea-based MNC), Analyzer CAE Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and many more, where they customized training according to business needs.
Despite personal setbacks in 2023, Susmita, an aspiring polymath by this time, and her team rose like phoenixes. Susmita's dream of working as a Corporate Trainer for an MNC became a reality as her business continued to thrive.
As they approach their third anniversary in October 2023, with many corporate training proposals in their hat, they are committed to taking their institute to new heights, promising to shatter language barriers and help students achieve their goals.
